{"id":743,"date":"2014-03-02T12:04:59","date_gmt":"2014-03-02T18:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/deanasimmons.wordpress.com\/?p=743"},"modified":"2014-03-02T12:04:59","modified_gmt":"2014-03-02T18:04:59","slug":"lemon-tart-with-almond-crust","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/southernladycooking.com\/?p=743","title":{"rendered":"Lemon Tart with Almond Crust"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>6-8 Servings<br \/>\nPrep: 40 min.<br \/>\nBake: 10 min. + cooling<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<br \/>\n1 cup all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1\/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted<br \/>\n1\/4 cup sugar<br \/>\n6 tablespoons cold butter<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon almond extract<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n2 to 3 tablespoons cold water<\/p>\n<p>FILLING:<br \/>\n3 eggs<br \/>\n3 egg yolks<br \/>\n1 cup sugar<br \/>\n3\/4 cup lemon juice<br \/>\n2 tablespoons grated lemon peel<br \/>\nDash salt<br \/>\n6 tablespoons butter, cubed<\/p>\n<p>Directions<br \/>\nPlace the flour, almonds, sugar, butter, extract and salt in a food<br \/>\nprocessor. Cover and pulse until blended. Gradually add water, 1<br \/>\ntablespoon at a time, pulsing until mixture forms a soft dough.<br \/>\nPress onto the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9-in. fluted tart<br \/>\npan with a removable bottom. Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15-20 minutes or<br \/>\nuntil golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Reduce heat to 325\u00b0.<br \/>\nIn a small heavy saucepan over medium heat, whisk the eggs, egg<br \/>\nyolks, sugar, lemon juice, peel and salt until blended. Add butter;<br \/>\ncook, whisking constantly, until mixture is thickened and coats the<br \/>\nback of a spoon. Pour into crust.<br \/>\nBake for 8-10 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack.
